Daze Off

Ahhh, the joys of working on a Federal holiday. Not to sound insensitive and politically incorrect and all that bullshit, but I really don’t care what day it is today. I just wanted the day off. It could’ve been Celebrate Ingrown Toenails Day for all I care if that meant that I didn’t have to be at work right now.


And since we’re at it, let’s add personal insult to employment injury; none of my friends are working and I have no one to e-mail or IM with.

But being here today did lead me to a realization of sorts...

As I struggled to bring myself to actually do something work related about an hour ago, I found that I’m a lot more productive when I have my iTunes on, a few e-mails going, a couple of IM windows blinking and handful of “side projects” to tend to, such as posting, reading trashy blogs and lurking on spoiler boards, all the while trying not to get caught.

Seriously! What the hell did people do at work before the joys of modern technology?

And more importantly...how the fuck am I supposed to actually get any work done today?
